Welcome to Infertility Out Loud...
This a website dedicated to those dealing with infertility. It's a space for people to share their experiences and read about what others have been through. Infertility is so rarely spoken about out loud, more often something individuals and couples struggle with alone. It can be a confusing, frustrating, and lonely journey. I hope, through sharing and reading, you will find solace and support. Connection can be a powerful tool in the otherwise isolating, trying world of infertility.
As someone who struggled with infertility, I found the entire process to be agonizing. I often felt as though I shouldn't talk about it, for fear of making others uncomfortable. Or felt uncomfortable myself if I did talk about it and they didn't "get it." As a therapist, this seemed unnatural-encouraging people to talk about difficult stuff is part of my job. I've seen it help so many people-not doing so just didn't make sense to me. In my group therapy work, I've also seen the power of sharing common experiences. To feel understood and validated. Relating to others is a powerful thing, as is the ability to complain about what you are going through to people who "get it." I hope that Infertility Out Loud creates that space for others in need.
